BAL Rapid-Mat is an innovative fast-track uncoupling membrane designed to accommodate lateral movement on floors with limited movement, protecting your finished tiling against cracks, fractures and reflective cracking from the substrate below. Built from two layers of non-woven polypropylene with an inner layer of glass filament, it uses around 20% less adhesive than traditional cavity mat systems — a saving of roughly 1.5kg of adhesive per square metre, or 45kg across a single 30m roll. Tiling can begin as soon as the mat is laid, and a printed gridline cutting guide makes installation quick and straightforward.

Rapid-Mat is suited to internal flooring in both domestic and commercial settings, including medium and heavy-duty applications, and is particularly recommended for heated floors and timber floors. It should be installed as a system with a suitable BAL flexible cementitious adhesive such as BAL Flex One or Rapid-Flex One.
