Top Tips for Tiling a Hallway

Share

This month we will be continuing our “Top Tips for” blog series with “Top Tips for Tiling a Hallway”. We have many tiles for various different needs, including making a hallway appear larger, busier or warmer. There are many stylistic approaches you can take when tiling your hallways, from patterned tiles for an eye-catching style to wood style tiles, for a more natural homely feeling.

Use Patterned Tiles

Patterned tiles aren’t only great for a kitchen or bathroom, using patterned tiles is a great way to add some character to a hallway in your home. The more vibrant style of these tiles can fill space in a larger area giving an empty hallway the appearance of being interesting and having a period feel.

The Epping and Belvoir tiles are some of our most popular hallway choices, both offering a different pattern option. These are perfect for adding character – making your house feel more like a home.

Use Wood Effect Tiles

Wood effect tiles are a great option if you prefer a warm, natural feel in your hallway.
There are many benefits to choosing wood styled tiles, including the fact that they are much more durable than using actual wood. On top of this, the wood styled tiles are waterproof, ensuring a long-lasting and easily maintainable floor (with none of the upkeep of real wood). Perfect for when the kids come running in with muddy wellies!

The Solano line is a great option, available in four colours (Bone, Greige, Natural and Oak) to match the colour theme of your hallway.

Make Your Hallway Appear Larger

Large tiles are a great choice for smaller hallways – Using larger format tiles and bright colours can help your hallway to appear larger.

There are many large format tiles that we recommend, including;

  • The Greenwich tile, gives the appearance of natural limestone and with three colours to choose from, there are various lighter colours to match your colour scheme.
  • The Buckingham tile is the perfect choice for when you want to match the inside of your house, to outside tiles. Including anti-slip options for both inside and outside use as well as a matt tile for inside use. Made from rectified porcelain, the Buckingham tile is durable and easy to clean.
