Practical beauty with matt wall tiles

Matt wall tiles are a great choice for achieving a beautiful and understated look in any room of your home. Where glossy tiles are great for maximising natural light in small rooms that don’t have much natural light, matt wall tiles absorb it, so you won’t be blinded by reflections.

We stock a wide range of matt wall tiles that are suitable for a multitude of design styles, from our Arte Tile Range that looks great as a feature wall in your kitchen, our Gemeni Tile Range that will look great when creating rustic charm in your bedroom or home office, and our Cornwall Tile Range, which is ideal for bathrooms.

Whether you’re moving to a new home and want to get it ready for the big move, or are renovating your existing home, at Tile & Stone Gallery, we have a great range of matt kitchen tiles to suit your personal style.

  • What is the lifespan of matt wall tiles?

Matt wall tiles have an incredibly long lifespan of up to 100 years, providing they’re installed professionally. Typically, matt porcelain wall tiles will last longer than ceramic wall tiles as they’re more durable, since they’re fired at much higher temperatures, along with being virtually waterproof.

    Q
  • Do matt wall tiles show dirt easily?

Because matt wall tiles are less reflective than glossy wall tiles, they actually hide dirt, grease and water stains better, making them great for high-traffic areas. It is worth noting, however, that regardless of the surface, lighter wall tiles will show dirt more easily.

    Q
  • Are matt tiles better than glossy tiles?

It really depends on the room, and the look you’re going for. For a more understated look that absorbs rather than reflects light, we’d recommend matt wall tiles, especially in larger rooms.

    Q
  • Do matt wall tiles scratch easily?

Actually, quite the opposite! The surface of a matt wall tile is generally more durable, doesn’t scratch as easily as glossy wall tiles and is better at hiding scuff marks due to its non-reflective surface.
