Share

We spend a lot of time covering wall and floor tiles in our blogs, however, we cannot overstate the importance of other tiling components. Today we will be discussing grouts, their importance and the easily preventable mistakes you can make when using grout.

We believe that when installing grout, It is important to choose a good high-quality brand, to ensure a long-lasting seal and protection. It may seem like you can get a better value for your money by purchasing a cheap product however it’s worth keeping in mind you may spend more money replacing grout and tiles in the future when the lower quality product wears down.

BAL Micromax

BAL Micromax is one of our most highly recommended grout options. Specifically designed to be rapid-setting and highly flexible, this product is effective in many environments. Due to its enhanced durability, the BAL Micromax line is perfect for many installation types such as wet rooms, heated flooring and power showers. The BAL Micromax line of grout is also anti-bacterial, which will help with the preservation of the surface of your tiles. With a range of 20 colours to choose from, it’s easy to make this product blend into any room.

Ardex FS/FL

The Ardex FS or FL series are fantastic alternative choices. At a more affordable price than the BAL Micromax, they are still fantastic options that can compete with other premium products.

As well as being faster setting than the FS line (Tiles can be trafficked after just 90 minutes), the FL line is suitable for larger joint sizes.

The FS is a fantastic option for narrower grout joints due to its finer grain, formulated to form a uniform colour ensuring a consistent appearance.

Both the FS and FL ranges are available in 35 different colours, perfect to fit the theme or style in any area needed.
